What is the best first single rotor rc heli for beginner?

There are hundreds out there that are great. Here are some ideas. You want to get a hobby grade RC Heli. Stay away from WalMart, Radio Shack and stores like that. Get yourself one from a hobby store. That way you can find replacement parts WHEN you break it. And you will break parts, a lot! Also, you need to know that the bigger the RC, the easier it is to fly and control. Those small ones are junk, hard to work on, and have to run harder to stay in the air and to control because they are so small. Think of how fast the wings on a housefly flap compared to a bird, just to stay in flight. Another thing, if you are a beginner you want less channels on the transmitter. If this is your first RC Heli, I suggest getting a 3 or 4 channel RC. My first Heli was a 4 channel and that was quite a lot to handle starting off. Out of my 15+ years in the RC hobby, flying a Heli was the hardest to learn and took the longest to learn. You need to have patience and a good understanding of how the RC moves and works. You are not going to just pull it out of the box and take flight. There are set up and tuning proceedures you have to do EVERY TIME you want to fly it. There are a lot of moving parts that need adjustment and lose their adjustment each run. So don't get frustrated or discouraged if you aren't flying straight right away or doing barrel rolls your first day/week/month of owning it. It take a lot of time and practice to get use to the controls. A great web site to purchase a high quality AND affordable RC Heli is www.xheli.com. You can get all of your replacement and upgrade parts from them as well. When you visit the site I suggest looking to the left and selecting by channel, 3 or 4. They have plenty to choose from and I am sure you will find one you will like. Hope this helps!

How competitive is it to become a fighter pilot with the Canadian Forces?

Over the last four or five years its been consuming me more and more that I want to become a pilot with the CF, and naturally who doesn't want to be a fighter pilot? So right now I'm doing a degree so I'd go the DEO route directly to flight training and all that. I'm just wondering, for anybody who knows, how competitive is competitive? I've never been an exceptionally athletic or quick guy, pretty average in that regard, but I am smart and hard working and am in pretty good shape. I'd gladly settle to pilot one of the griffin heli's but I have absolutely no interest in flying the multi engine planes, and if I'm going to join when I get out of uni I want to be confident that I at least have a chance. So to those who know, any tips?

Well what I did to gain my geldings trust was to speak to him, groom him, touch him allover in his paddock. He also does not like a lunge whip, so what I do is use my voice, when I lunge him. He responds very well to it,better than he does when a professional trainer uses a whip and her voice, and our bond is growing stronger. Other thing that could work is that u must just sit a read a story outload to her.

Horse color question? Black or dark blue roan?

She is black from what I can see in the pictures. I don't see any roan hairs in her flank or anywhere that would indicate otherwise. Because even with dark roans you can see it on their legs and she doesn't have that.

Ninja 250 Spark Plug Heli-Coil?

So yesterday as I was driving my Ninja 250 (1997, 26k kilometers), and I blew out my right spark plug. I walked the bike home, and with some help from my dad's mechanically inclined friends, we determined that the spark plug "housing" was stripped. Heli-Coil was the first fix to come up, so we are planning to get 2 new spark plugs, and Heli-Coil the inside (take the head off, the holes are REALLY deep on this bike.) There is one problem though. Apparently the engine is aluminum, and Heli-Coils are Steel. Different expansion points could cause problems right? Is there any alternatives to Heli-Coils? What is the price range on these? Any tips on doing this? Thanks in advance!

Horse (mare) has reoccurring problem?

well iv posted a few questions on here already about these horses. The owner is being a real jerk to us. I found out he owns a large Business in they are really expensive and make a good profit. Well the Tornado hit April 27th and all his horses got loose. We have been trying to catch them for the past week. The sheriff has tried and a whole bunch of other people im the only one who has caught any. They are possibly sick from pesticides on the corn Field they are in and they are very skinny. One will have her foal any day now. The owner came off at first as being really nice when he came to see the first horse i was able to catch. But he called the horse a gelding and it was really a mare. I Said um... no i think its a mare? He put up quite an argument that both the flea bitten grays were geldings and brothers. I said no im looking at her right now one is a mare the other one is the gelding. Well he asked how were you able to catch her? I said i had a bucket of grain and she came right up. He said iv never fed my horses grain. I said well she is under weight why don't you? He said she doesn't need it he also said he doesn't feed hay, Trim there feet or worm them. I said well horses need all of these he said they don't. well when I caught 2 more horses he refused to come help me. And he also refused to tell me the name of his Business i don't think he wanted me to know he had enough money to take care of these horses and to hire some one to catch them for him. well they got away because i didn't have enough help. These horses feet rae so terrible i don't think any of them have been trimmed in several years if at all. One bay mare has a hoof split all the way up to the band and they are very long. The older horses are in very bad shape. They have never been lead around or broke to halter or trailer. We are reporting the owner because he stated he doesn't properly feed these horses or give them vet and farrier care. He also left them out in the open on another mans property and government state property for the past 41 days knowing he could have payed some one to professionally get these horses. Do you think these are good enough reasons to report this man? i don't think he is responsible enough to take care of these horses. The mare has had no care and is about to drop a foal in the middle of a corn field with pesticides all over it and he hasn't even came buy to help us catch them. He said he has tried in the past but no one could catch them. He clearly has no use for these horses. Before the tornado hit he didn't even have a proper fence up. A steep banked creek was all that was keeping them from entering the road.

Ok so as everyone has probably heard there is a out break of EHV in Washington (probably other places to). All of the barns in the state are in lock down as is WSU. Im really worried because a friend of mine had her horse up at WSU (that is where it pretty much started) for breeding. That horse has since been at my barn where my horse is several times a week for lessons (the breeding was unsucsessful so they have kept training). Today there were 3 confirmed cases of EHV in my town. So we are on lock down at the barn no horses come in or go out but how else can I help my horse not to get it? He is older he is healthy but Im worried if he gets he might not be strong enough to pull through. And the foal it is only 4 days old. And what are signs of it?

HELP, my RC HELICOPTER wont turn on?

ok so i brought this rc helicopter today from the local hobie shop which they recommended for beginners like myself so i got home put batteries in the remote charged the heli for 20 minutes (the manual says to charge for 20 minutes) then i turned on the remote then i turned on the heli everything looked ok. i press throttle and the blades just twitched for a .5 second and stopped then the heli turned off automatically so then i tried again exept nothing happened on the heli at all not even the red indicator light!!!. im going to return the heli tomorrow and give up rc heli's

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with them. I don't see any reason why you should breed as long as your prepared for the foal and of course all the expenses. I do recommend that you get them checked out by your vet. Animals with dwarf legs are at more of a risk for heart problems. If you get a clean bill of health for both horses then I say go ahead. Help with stripped spark plug hole?

Okay this wasn't on my car but on my son's 150cc go kart. The spark plug hole was stripped, so I tapped it and inserted a 10mm heli-coil. A test fit of the coil shows it screws onto the spark plug just fine when not inserted into the hole, but after I installed it in the spark plug hole, I can't get a spark plug in without stripping the plug. Any suggestions on what I did wrong and how to fix it?

Problem bonding with horse?!?

I have just started leasing a new horse, Spirit. She is a 13 yr old half arab. Her first owner was a real bad guy. He would whip her with a chain lead rope when she misbehaved. She was then bred and gave birth to a stillborn foal. Her second owner had her fully trained well and took good care of her, although he never saw her alot. He boarded her at my best friend's stables where I met her. Now, I am leasing her. She was at first very, very jumpy and hated leaving her herd. I worked with her A LOT and now I am riding her with my friend. She still jumps at tiny things. The first few times I rode her, she was great. Now, she hates being ridden and trys to do anything to get back to her herd. I feel like I have given her all of my affection and time and in return I get a horse who wants to run me over to get back to her pasture mate. I know she was abused and horses are herd animals, but honestly I do not know what to do anymore. I have always wanted a horse and everyone knows a girls dream horse is the perfect best friend. I do not want to give up on her yet, so how do I get her to trust me? Any methods or exercises? I groom her to perfection, feed her her favorite treats, scratch her favorite places, read to her...do everything! I see my friend's horse go to her, nuzzle her and their bond is evident. For example the other day, my family went to give her a carrot and visit and her pasture mate came running over. I stood waiting to give her a carrot and a good scratch and she blew right by me, didnt even glance at me. So how do I get her to trust me? How do I get her to stop being so herd bound as well? I know abused horses need special attention, but how? And please no answers saying she is too much horse for me...I need lessons...etc. I am feeling like I am giving up on her, and the lease is up in december. Yes that does sound like your RMS wattage. Sorry your going to need a new amp. You may just be under powering your MTX if it is a 350 watt rms. So depending on which Kicker subs you are going to get will really determin how many watts your amp should be if you are getting say. two 12" kicker comps you will see on the box it says 300 watt peak 150 RMS. so in that case you really need to look for at least a 300 watt amp. it also must be a two channel amp. you must also know how you need to bridge the sub woofers you plan on getting. I have always used kicker products myself and i will never change. all kicker amps have a certificate inside the box that says how much they can handle. which is always higher then what it says on the box. good luck.

Can anyone tell me why my mare has not shown any signs of heat since she ad her foal?

My mare had her foal on April 18 and has not shown any signs of foal heat or her 30 day heat. We had to give her oxytocin to help her produce milk 12 hours after the foal was born. She is a good mom but can be a bit excitable. She has been beside the stallion every day, all day, since 8 days after her foal was born and has not shown any interest in him what so ever. Her foal was delivered without incident, and she is healthy and in good shape. This is the first time that I have had a mare that has not shown any signs of heat after having a foal and I'm at a loss to understand what is wrong.

I would upgrade to a 4 channel just because it's the next step from the 3 channel you are flying now. If you think your 3 channel is boring and you are flying and landing regularly without incident, then you probably could move up to the 6 channel. I started off learning with a 6 channel, never flew a heli before, and it took me a while to learn and get the hang of it. I should have started with a 4 channel. But since you have experience, maybe a 6 channel would be better for you. I would suggest www.xheli.com for your next purchase. They are quality helis and very affordable. I worked at the airstation at Camp Pendletom for many years. Since we werre by the coast the fog would cover the runway a lot. When ever we would get a large aircraft like a C-17 or C-5 trying to land in heavy fog they would do low passes and loops a lot so that they were certain they were landing at the beggining of the runway. My sister has been riding my mare and she just had a foal a month a go will she hurt her?

My mare plants her feet and refuses to go forward?

I have a 13 year old mare that I have owned since she was 5. She was green broke when I got her, so I worked with her and an instructor to teach her training level dressage. She really did well. She is the type horse that needs to be worked 4-5 times per week. After a couple of years, I put a western saddle on her and we rode miles of trails together for the next couple of years. Then another mare had a foal and she seemed to get jealous. It really changed her. The foal would call out to her when we went to leave the property and she began refusing to leave the property. Around the same time, I got a job where I traveled a great deal and could not devote 5 rides a week to her. When I would ride her, she would fight me leaving the property as though she was barn sour. i am an experienced rider, I know how to cue her to move forward, but she refused. If I tapped her with the crop, she still would not move. If I turned her to move her feet, she would back up and then abruptly stop. Very frustrating!!! But eventually, something would "click" in her mind and she would take off at a trot and we would have a great ride. Then, last year, another foal was born and she got jealous again. She bonds to those babies! I could not get her to leave the property with me on her back. I would then take her to the equestrian park, lunge her and then mount; the fight would start all over. Today, I took her to the park and she planted her feet and simply refused. There was another rider there that was willing to ride with us, but that meant nothing to her. I put spurs on and she did work out in the arena, but the minute we left the arena and headed for home, she refused to move forward again. I tried and tried. I should note that I was riding her bareback with a rope halter. She has been very responsive bareback in the past and I can ride her at any gait with either a bridle or a halter. I am so very frustrated and I really believe that there is some tie to the foals, what do you think? I love this mare (She is a maiden mare) but I am beyond frustrated with her at this point. Breeding and West Nile Shot?

We had plans to breed my mare in 2012 however I stumbled upon an article on births that had gone badly when the mares had gotten their vaccines during pregnancy. I'm not super sure of how old this article is but it really scared me. In two stories, one foal had been born without front legs and another had been born without an eye, a nostril, and had a severe roman nose. Does anyone have any experience with this recently? I'm having my shots done this Saturday and I'm really concerned.

I used to work for an equine vet that specialized in breeding. There were quite a few orphaned foals in our care each year, and it was always the orphaned foals that bloated like that. From what I understand, it's a side-effect of malnutrition from lack of mother's milk. It's not always caused by worms. I would definitely talk to your veterinarian about it. If he's on a good de-worming program then a change in diet might be required. Our orphaned foals always grew out of it with some decent healthcare, nutrition and exercise. A bloated belly may also be caused by lack of exercise. Younger horses who were on stall rest, or who had been ill and inactive for some time would look like that. There are many possibilities here, so consulting a veterinarian is definitely your best bet for finding answers. I would just advise against de-worming him until he's confirmed to have worms. Too much de-wormer can do more harm than good. You don't want to de-worm a horse out of schedule before you know what he has. Certain de-wormers only kill certain species of parasites, so even if he has worms and you blindly de-worm, you may not fix the problem.

My boyfriend is a rigger. He works the winter and come spring they take a break cause the ground is too soft to work on. So they are off all summer. Unfolding a flag of a deceased veteran after military funeral?

My friend just found the American Flag that was given to her dad after her grandpa was buried. It has been stored away for almost 30 years. She just recently found it and bought a case to place it in for display, but it is very loose and needs to be tighter to fit in the case, and neither one of us know how to do it right. My brother is in the Army on active duty. We asked him if he could unfold it and re fold it to be placed in the case. I don't think bloodlines matter either. But people do it because some horses are rare, and their bloodlines matter, and to raise the price of the horse also. If i see a horse i like, i look at it, i don't check for its bloodlines. I look at its color, then maybe if i can, i could actually see the horses personality. How Do I Get My Mare Used To The Hose?

I had the same problem with my Arab mare. For her it was mostly the noise from the hose, and having it touch her scared her. I had to start with taking a pitcher of water and poor it on her legs to get her used to the wetness, then turning the hose on very slowly, like not making much noise and just running it on over her feet then up her leg helped. Eventually she was able to handle it! With some horses its the coldness of the water from the hose. Maybe heating the water up a little bit, where its still cold but not freezing might help. Congratulation her after she lets it touch her helps a lot as well. Don't start with putting the hose to her backside first. Make sure you put the hose up in front of her first to where she can see it. Hope I helped! =) Good luck!

Mare preg with identical twins PGd but still scanned in foal?

as some will remember from previous question my mare was scanned in foal with twins. they are identical twin in the same sack so impossible to abort just 1. she had 2 shots of pg and has since been re scanned to see if she lost them. they are both still there. one is happy and healthy but the other is starting to look abit dodgy (vets words not mine lol). as the dodgy one still has heartbeat iv opted to re try the PG followed by another scan in 10 days to check if they still there. im kinda prayin for a miracle in that the dodgy one will be reduced but the healthy one stays, as they in same sack its pretty unlikely that one will survive the death of the other. i didnt want to risk leavin her for a few weeks to see if dodgy one reduced itself cos obviously the longer the preg the harder it is to abort. its already becoming difficult due to the fact shes developed endometrial cups so i really cant risk losing more time. how many PG shots does it normally take to abort a mare? she is now aroung 55-60 days

i don't know the exact one but i can give you a suggestion or two i have messy hair not quite like yannis' for that i think i would need a perm but to get the same kind of rigidity i would stay away from the hair products that have a sun-tan lotion texture to them (i.e really soft) also for example Vo5 molding putty is a good example of what not to get it will just turn it greasy you need something firmer like clay or wax i tend to use dax wax because im cheap like that, but be warned if you want that look it means using stuff that will dry in your hair and may turn it rock solid (it will stay in the style) but i can be a b*tch to wash out so to get most tough styling products out of my hair i tend to use head and shoulders shampoo for greasy hair...sorry for not alot of specifics mate hope it helps though :)

For the second question, get a squirt bottle and set it to a single stream not a mist. Every time they nip kick or misbehave, give em a good squirt of water right between the eyes or on the soft part of the mouth. Doesn't hurt at all just very annoying. They'll stop.

About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 12 yr. old registered miniature mare from a local farm. They told me they had purchased her as a bred mare but she never foaled so they assumed she was not pregnant. They guesses they have owned her her close to a year. Today the farrier came ut and was trimming her feet, when he was done he asked if she was pregnant. I told him no but it got me to thinking. I went online and read up on some symptoms. I can feel a thick waxy like substance on her teats but she is not bagging up. I read though that if they are on pasture, which she is, that they sometimes won't? Also when wboughtht her her stomach was very round and it has moved to where she looks thinner but Im not sure. She has been urinating all the time as well. The vet is supposed to call me back tomorrow but I was wondering if there were any tests that checked for late term pregnancies? I have always delt with purebred arabs so this is new territory for me. I recently got a mare from a friend who bought her at an auction and she has no papers. She looks Arab, but could have morgan in her, they look similar. Can I breed her to a registered Arabian stallion and then register the foal as a half arabian for show purposes? How close is she to foaling? You could consider switching to shavings until she's close. Shavings shouldn't be used because it gets caught in the foal's nose and can suffocate it. If you're really desperate, as long as her pasture is clean, dry, and grassy, you could let her foal there. I prefer stall though, since it's easier to monitor and keep clean.

1997 Ninja 250 Spark Plug Heli-Coil?

So yesterday as I was driving my Ninja 250 (1997, 26k kilometers), and I blew out my right spark plug. I walked the bike home, and with some help from my dad's mechanically inclined friends, we determined that the spark plug "housing" was stripped. Heli-Coil was the first fix to come up, so we are planning to get 2 new spark plugs, and Heli-Coil the inside (take the head off, the holes are REALLY deep on this bike.) There is one problem though. Apparently the engine is aluminum, and Heli-Coils are Steel. Different expansion points could cause problems right? Is there any alternatives to Heli-Coils? What is the price range on these? Any tips on doing this? Thanks in advance!

the foals father died before she was born? i did not know my mare was pregnant when i got her and the foal has one of two stallions. i had a problem with horse boarding and ended up moving them an hour away for full board but then i discovered the lady caring for them was doing what she wanted with them. she ended up putting my two stallions together and the one killed the other. needless to say she has no contacts with my horses anymore, but i couldn't find any way to prossicute her. i owned both stallions but they were going to be gelded so i dont know anything about registering this foal.

You can try going to a large scale farm and seeing what they would think of it. I'm not HUGE when it comes to breeding, but what you said sounds good! You can also talk to said farm and see if they will keep her as a broodmare. That may get pricey, but they will make sure she gets great care and they are obviously very experienced with breeding and foaling.

Which RC Heli is the best one?

The first and third one look to be acrobatic helis so you will be able to do stunts with them. All 3 are great helis and xheli is a great place to get them. I've been dealing with them for years. If this is your first heli I do NOT recommend getting a 6 channel OR an acrobatic heli. In the 15+ years I have been in the RC hobby, flying was the hardest to learn for me. I bought a 6 channel as my first heli and it cost me about $45-75 every time I tried to fly it. It takes a lot of patience and pre-flight prep to get it in the air....and then trying to control it AND land it takes a lot of practice and patience as well. So if this is your first heli, I would get a 4 channel. But you are headed in the right direction with the ones you are looking at. All are great quality and great RC's. Good luck, hope this helps.

My mare is having trouble letting her foal suck?

I have a few mares and foals.The last mare foaled early Monday morning.Its her 1st foal,everything was fine until today.Everytime the foal goes to suck the mare wont let him,she keeps walking.She walked around the paddock,sometimes breaking into a trot for 15mins.Eventually she does give in and lets him suck but tucks right up,indicating to me she is sore.I dont think her milk is flowing down proper yet.I held her in the paddock today to let the foal suck,which he did,but it looked like he wasnt getting much.The poor foal is tired from all the walking,and the mare is sore,her udder looks normal, what can i do ?
