How competitive is it to become a fighter pilot with the Canadian Forces?

Over the last four or five years its been consuming me more and more that I want to become a pilot with the CF, and naturally who doesn't want to be a fighter pilot? So right now I'm doing a degree so I'd go the DEO route directly to flight training and all that. I'm just wondering, for anybody who knows, how competitive is competitive? I've never been an exceptionally athletic or quick guy, pretty average in that regard, but I am smart and hard working and am in pretty good shape. I'd gladly settle to pilot one of the griffin heli's but I have absolutely no interest in flying the multi engine planes, and if I'm going to join when I get out of uni I want to be confident that I at least have a chance. So to those who know, any tips?
