HeliCoil on my carb throttle slide?

The threads on the inside of my slide are striped so my throttle cable will come out of the slide. A new slide is about 150 bucks! So I was wondering if I could put a heli coil insert for new threads? The bike is a 2002 yz 125 by the way!
